A Perfect Summer Day in Los Angeles with Stephanie and Robin

From wakeup snuggles, neighborhood coffee shops, to Mozart-filled afternoons and dream dinners—summer in Los Angeles is nothing short of delightful for Steph Dixon and her 3 year old son, Robin. Get to know Steph, Nestig's Head of Brand Marketing, as she takes us on a perfect summer day with Robin.

We start every day with sleepy snuggles until Robin gets too enthused about the day and yells “Let’s wake up!” Then we head to our fave neighborhood coffee shop for coffee and snacks—the perfect day is not complete without a stop here!

Next stop, Travel Town! Robin is really into trains, and this cute little spot in Griffith Park has historic trains, a train ride and lots of toy tracks.

After a busy morning, we take it easy in the afternoon reading books, listening to Mozart and Prince (Robin’s favorites) and playing with his extensive toy train collection. Robin took this polaroid of me, his first ever!

Finally, we eat my dream dinner of chips, salsa and margaritas at Salazar in Frogtown—Robin spent lots of time looking for bugs.

What are your summer must-haves?
  • Beauty of Joseon Matte Sun Stick for all day sunscreen touchups
  • Turkish towels to use as picnic blankets
  • 1 million Baggu bags for taking toy trucks and trains everywhere we go
  • Jeni’s Ice Cream because duh!
As a mom, what items help make your day-to-day a little more delightful?

It’s sounds silly, but every day seeing Robin in his Wave toddler bed brings me so much joy. I remember him being so little in the crib and knowing that it’s still the same piece of furniture, even though it (and he!) has changed really gets me.

I also really love our polaroid cameras, we have a classic Instax and a restored pop-up Polaroid from Retrospekt. I love being able to capture analog, physical photos of Robin, Daniel (my husband!) and I. There’s something so magical about capturing an exact moment, with all it’s mess; I treasure each one!
